Formal ground school courses are conducted in aircraft systems and emergency procedures as part of each type or class endorsement. Theory training (supporting and refreshing the IREX qualification) is conducted for Command and Co-Pilot Instrument Rating Courses as well as Night VFR Ratings. A comprehensive ground school syllabus is covered as an important part of the student’s NVG training curriculum.

(***) If the applicant already holds an IR-C M/E (A) rating then the (CASA) simulator training requirement is waived. Alternatively if the applicant already holds an Australian military helicopter instrument rating then the flying training is reduced to a 10 hour course on the AS355 plus a flight test.
